Cinema Museum | A world of cinema memorabilia
London’s Cinema Museum is devoted to keeping alive the spirit of cinema from the days before the multiplex. Set in historic surroundings in Kennington, the Cinema Museum is home to a unique collection of artefacts, memorabilia and equipment that preserves the history and grandeur of cinema from the 1890s to the present day. It is also the former home of the Lambeth workhouse, where Charlie Chaplin arrived as a young child. Today, the museum’s existence is under threat, with the premises currently on the market. A petition to save the museum has reached almost 30,000 signatures.
